BARRIE - Barrie’s future will unfold Wednesday night.
A three-hour open house will take place on the former Innisfil land secondary plans and city-wide infrastructure master plans, at Liberty North.
“‘This is not only the planning document that will generate the plans for the next 20 years,”‘ Mayor Jeff Lehman said, “‘but the intensification plans for the entire city.”‘
Eric Hodgins, the city’s growth management co-ordinator, said the meeting’s purpose is two-fold.
First, it’s the third and final public information centre (PIC) under the Class Environmental Assessment (EA) process for the citywide infrastructure master plans.
“These are the plans that have been prepared for water, wastewater, stormwater/drainage and transportation services for both the (former Innisfil) annexed lands and lands within the former city limits,” Hodgins said.
