BARRIE - Barrie area employers expect a hopeful hiring climate for the third quarter of 2014, according to the latest Manpower Employment Outlook Survey.
"Survey data reveals that 16% of employers plan to hire for the upcoming quarter (July to September), while none anticipate cutbacks," said Sara Blow of Manpower's Barrie office.
Another 81% of employers plan to maintain their current staffing levels in the upcoming quarter, while three per cent are unsure of their hiring intentions.
"With seasonal variations removed from the data, Barrie's third quarter Net Employment Outlook of 17% is an increase of five percentage points when compared to the previous quarterly Outlook," said Blow. "It is also a six percentage point increase from the Outlook reported during the same time last year, indicating a favourable hiring pace for the upcoming months."
