BARRIE - Lakehead University takes “great pride” in the fact its Orillia campus is the only full-service campus in the county, says a senior university official.

“We’re in the business of staying in business and we make decisions accordingly,” Hanley said.
Right now, Lakehead, which opened its doors in Orillia in 2006, is focused on expanding its programming, he said. Laurentian, which has offered a handful of degree programs out of Georgian College in Barrie since 2001, is still in the early stages of trying to secure funding from the province for the proposed expansion.
