BARRIE - The revitalization of Barrie’s Golden Mile has begun.
A joint announcement by the City of Barrie and Hinduja Global Solutions (HGS) to open an incoming call centre in the Kozlov Centre this fall was well received at city hall, Monday.
“This is a $20-million annual investment in our community each year,” said Nora Gavarre, a senior development co-ordinator with the City of Barrie.
“The big picture is, this is an amazing package put together for Barrie,” she said.
Mayor Jeff Lehman and HGS president and CEO Ross Beattie announced the opening of the new call centre, which will initially employ 500 customer service representatives, as well as management, human resources personnel and information technology staff, with another 200 positions added by this time next year.
